Nintendo fans finally got what they wanted, the newest installment to the Animal Crossing games. The last game, Animal Cross- ing New Leaf came out in 2012 and for those who love these games it has been far too long till the next one. But now the wait is over-Nintendo fans can play their hearts away on the new Animal Crossing Pocket Camp app. This app is exactly what Animal Crossing fans were hoping for. You start out by creating your character who is going on a camping vacation. Upon arrival you meet the fan favorite animal Isabelle, who calls you the campsite manager.

In classic Animal Crossing fashion you-the player-gets roped into a managerial position you never signed up for. The app itself is a pleasant camping experience with opportunities to go fishing on the river, hunting for bugs, collecting seashells, and gathering fruit off trees. The app features all the usual villagers that any Animal Crossing game would have with a few more NPC’s added who serve to customize your camper experience.

The whole game revolves around customization and leveling up. Players get to customize their campsite and choose from dozens if not hundreds of furniture and clothing options. Every player has a choice of a few basic types of furniture; Sporty, Cool, Cute and Natural. Each type of furniture attracts a different group of animals to you. As the player progresses and levels up there are more options for furniture, such as elegant and chic furniture.

Much like a typical Animal Crossing game the Pocket Camp app is a pleasant experience and a nice break from the troubles of daily life. The NPC’s are cheerful and always supportive of the player’s campsite. Pocket Camp does a good job of showcasing other real life players around the world built for the app. Players can manage a listing of items they offer up for sale to other players. Players can also visit each others campsites, give kudos and earn rewards for interacting with other players and NPC’s.

Anyone can enjoy the cutesy lifestyle that Pocket Camp places on camping or compete with other players to get the biggest and best campsite. The best part about this app is that it is free at the app store on iOS and Android devices. Download the app and enter the breeding ground of happy campers among an anthropomorphic world of cheery villagers.
