An American pastime, the sport of all sports. The long awaited Superbowl had nally graced us with its presence this Sunday. Plymouth State University knows the importance of football to many of its students. That's why around this time of year students can look forward to having the game broadcast live on the big screens in Prospect Hall, while also enjoying the grub free of charge. What else is a better combination than football and free food? This begs the question of what delicious food was served in honor of the big game.
The staff at Prospect Hall served an array of food for their football loving students. In honor of the Philadelphia Eagles they served Philly Cheese steaks, in addition to chicken wings in the traditional bu alo and barbecue sauces or a choice of plain wings with a side of celery or carrots. They also served cold turkey wraps, ham wraps, and cheeseburgers. Of course there was still the usual pizza, pasta and salad bar.
To satisfy the taste buds after the main courses, they also served ice cream and whoopie pies for dessert. The Newfound Room was strictly for students and guest ages 18 and up, serving as a makeshift bar. Bud Light, Coors and Samuel Adams were served, but access to the back room required an o cial state ID. To those who might wonder why they would serve alcohol during the festivities, the bartender said, “We served it last year and it was a big success.”
Perhaps they wanted students of age to be able to drink reasonably while also enjoying the game, without the fear of students injuring themselves. To make the night even more exciting, each person received ra e tickets upon entry for the chance to win amazing prizes such as an Amazon Fire Stick, Beats Headphones, an Amazon Echo, a Smart TV and a plethora of Patriots merchandise.
Thinking about going next year? Do it, because it’s a great time to hangout with friends while also enjoying free food, and the chance to win amazing prizes whether you're a football fan or not.
