We've all seen the construction happening on campus surrounding the Geneva Smith Residential Hall. But do you really know just what exactly they're making it into? Well, our resources have given us the inside scoop on what exactly is going on inside Smith Hall. The building that was once home to hundreds of Plymouth State students, is now being turned into a shopping mall for students to spend even more money on this wondrous campus. Now students will no longer have to leave campus in order to go shopping for clothes and other necessities.
The building will still continue to be called Geneva Smith, but now it will be known as the Geneva Smith Mall. Stores that students can look forward to shopping at are Urban Outfitters, H&M, Forever 21, Adidas, Sephora, American Eagle Out tters, Victoria Secret, Bed Bath & Beyond, GameStop, FYE, and many more. And to cater to the sweets tooths of the Plymouth State students, there will also be many different places to soothe a hungry stomach, such places are FroyoWorld, Buffalo Wild Wings, Olive Garden, Subway, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and many more delectable options.
Now you may be wondering, how do Plymouth State students feel about the once residential hall being turned into a shopping mall? Sophomore Kristina Mehegan said, “I am so excited not to have to drive all the way to Tilton to fulfill my shopping addiction.” That’s right kiddos, with the shopping mall right on campus it will save hundreds of dollars in gas money, which could go to more important things like textbooks, or a new pair of shoes, or maybe a nice handbag.
Now because we are Plymouth State students we are given benefits. Our school IDs are programmed with the maximum credit of $1,500 which will only be accessible when the building is finished with construction. It’s PSU’s way of thanking us for our patience and understanding during the time of construction. So be pumped Plymouth State, we are getting our very own Geneva Smith Mall.
