Roberts, Jackson Rake in Softball Accolades
Plymouth, NH - Bekah Jackson (junior; Nashua, NH) can add two more accolades to her softball career: Little East Conference Player of the Week and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III New England Softball Player of the Week, and Whitney Roberts (sophomore; Chocorua, NH) can add Little East Rookie of the Week to her résumé as well.
Jackson batted .643 with 10 extra-base hits and 11 RBIs from April 7th - April 13th. Roberts went 2-0 with a 0.98 earned run average in three appearances for PSU, including a one-run complete-game win against Eastern Connecticut University to snap ECU's 21-game LEC winning streak. The Panthers were 6-2 in that stretch, splitting a double-header with Castleton University, sweeping a double-header with Lyndon State University, and splitting a double-header with Eastern Connecticut University.
Jackson is currently leading the Panthers in almost every offensive category. She is currently batting .523 with 11 doubles, 10 triples, 7 homeruns, 24 steals, 37 RBIs on the year. This is Roberts first year at Plymouth State, having transferred, but she is finding success in her first year with the Panthers. She leads the team in wins with a 10-4 record and has 2.48 ERA with 39 strikeouts.
