Contrary to what you may be thinking, this isn't about the singer Bob Marley. The Bob Marley that just performed in Plymouth is a well-known stand up comedian from Portland, Maine. He has stated that when he was born, his father had no idea there was even a singer named Bob Marley.

Marley preformed live at The Flying Monkey Movie House and Performance Center in Plymouth, NH on Thurs, Oct. 18. Marley put on a great show full of hilarious jokes, involving lots of New England humor, impersonations, and humorous facial expressions.

"I liked his accurate mockery of New Englanders and old people," said junior, Tegan Donnelly.

This will be Marley's 20th year as a stand up comedian; he preforms over 250 shows a year across the country. During his show he mentioned the different places he has traveled to recently for shows including, Maine, Georgia, and Arizona. Each place had it's own funny joke to go along with the description of the different trips.

"He makes jokes that only true New Englanders would understand," said junior Nicole Crandle.

Marley has been featured in his own special on Comedy Central, and has been on television talk shows including: The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and many more.

"I would describe the show to someone who wasn't there as hysterical, but not a show that would be appropriate for anyone under the age of eighteen. He says a lot of things that people could easily take offense to," said senior, Montanna Heinlein.

He is also regularly hosted on Sirius Satellite Radio channels 97 Blue collar radio and 99 RawDog comedy. "I listen to Bob Marley on XM radio a lot, so seeing him on stage doing standup was unreal," said Crandle.

Not only did Marley pack the entire Flying Monkey Theater, he also had the whole audience laughing the entire show.

"My favorite part was about the cable box bit, it made me laugh-snort out loud," said Donnelly.

Overall Marley put on a fantastic show, "I can't pick just one specific part in the show that was my favorite. I liked the entire show overall," said senior Montanna Heinlein.

Marley mentioned he will be returning to Plymouth, NH in the spring to do another performance at the Flying Monkey, so stay tuned for more details.
