The Plymouth State University Women's Soccer team won both games played at home over the weekend to snap their five game losing streak.  On Thursday, October 7, they defeated Lyndon State by a score of 4-0.  And on Saturday, October 9, they defeated Rhode Island College 5-2.

With the two victories, PSU snapped their five game losing streak and improved their overall record on the season to 5-7 with a Little East Conference record 1-3.  With the losses, Lyndon State has fallen to 4-6-1 and RIC is now 6-5.

For PSU, it has been an up and down season.  They started the year 0-2, then went a three game winning streak; before losing five in a row and are now on a two game winning streak. PSU currently sits tied for sixth in the LEC but is only one conference loss out of fourth place.  With a flurry of conference games upcoming, they will have the opportunity to jump up the LEC standings.

In their game against Lyndon State, Junior Sam Laliberte led the way for the Panthers as she scored two goals while getting four shots on goal.  Juniors Amy Green and Charlotte Miller each chipped in with a goal apiece on the day as PSU was able to get 17 shots on goals compared to only four for Lyndon State. Juniors Angelina LaBroad and Courtney Lins each tended the goal for PSU for a half apiece as each stopped two shots on goal while not allowing any goals.

In their game against Rhode Island College, PSU was able to put five goals on the board as Sam Laliberte yet again led the way for PSU with a four goal performance on nine shots.  The four goals for Laliberte brought her team-leading total of goals scored on the season to eight.  Rebecca Wilson would score the only other goal of the game for PSU, which brought her season total to three which is currently second on the team.  PSU would have a total of 14 shots on goal on the day.

LaBroad will play goalie for the entire game for PSU as she only allowed two goals on 15 shots, six of which were shots on goals. PSU will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on Castleton (which is an out-of-conference game) on the road on Wednesday, October 13; and will then travel to take on UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, October 16.  UMD is currently 3-10 overall and 0-4 in the LEC.
