For The Clock
On Saturday, the PSU Volleyball team hosted a tri-match between Husson University and LEC competitor Rhode Island College. The Panthers fell to RIC 2-3 (25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 11-15) in the first match, taking their first conference loss, but were able to bounce back in their second match to sweep Husson 3-0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-12).
Plymouth came out strong in the match against RIC, winning the first two sets by at least five points (25-17, 25-20). However, the Anchorwomen were fired up for a comeback, and battled PSU for the win in the next two sets, barely claiming the wins by two-points (23-25 both sets). With the match tied 2-2, RIC would claim the final set of play and take the win with a score of 11-15, chalking up their first conference win and giving the Panthers their first loss in the LEC.
Sophomore Claire Sporer (Med- ford, O.R.) led the team in kills and posted a season-high with 21 in the match versus RIC. Junior Dani Tabor (Olympia, W.A.) also posted double digits with 17 kills. Senior Kristin Perrotta (Hudson, N.H.) had a season-high of her own with 52 assists. Sophomore Brenna Peruch (Cave Creek, A.Z.) led defensively with 26 digs. Perrotta, Sporer, and junior Rachel Morrissey (Salem, N.H.) all posted double digits in digs, as well.

Husson put up little fight against Plymouth in their second match of the day. The Panthers completed an easy sweep of the Eagles, winning each set by at least 9 points.
Junior Brianna Wojtas (Salem, N.H.) led on offense in the non-conference match, posting eight kills. Classmates Katie Sylvia (Lee, N.H.) and Mikki Taffe (Sandown, N.H.) contributed six and five kills, respectively. Sophomore Megan Bailey (Canterbury, N.H.) chalked up 17 assists and Morrissey led the Panthers defense with 14 digs.
Plymouth returns to the court for another tri-match on Saturday, hosting WPI and Salem State for non-conference matches on homecoming weekend. The games are scheduled to begin at noon.
