1. Volleyball (Last Issue: 5) – despite having their six game win- ning streak snapped last Tuesday, The PSU volleyball team is 11-7 this season. They are look exceptionally strong heading into some tough con- ference games.
2. Field Hockey (last issue: 2) – PSU field hockey is now 6-3 overall after their winning streak was snapped by Worcester State. After an 0-2 start to the season, the team has improved by averaging 4.7 goals per game in 9 games while registering 22.6 shots per game.
3. Cross Country (last Issue: 4) – Both cross-country teams are enjoying a solid start to the season. The men’s team finished fourth at the Keene state college Invitational with a score of 85, while the women’s team earned a third place finish with a score of 73.
4. Football (last issue: 1) – After a 4-0 start to the season, the football team suffered their first loss of the season in a 14-13 overtime loss. Despite the loss, their offense has been incredible scoring 26 points per game.
5. Women’s Tennis (Last Issue: UR) The Plymouth State University women's tennis team won four of five singles matches and claimed a 5-3 victory over Salem State University on Tuesday. After Salem state led 2-1, PSU rallied to win the bottom four singles matches to clinch the victory. Their lone win in doubles came from sophomores Kelley Corson (Exeter, N.H.) and Lily O'Connor (Salem, N.H.).
Panther Athletes:
1. Sam Brunnette (Newport, Vt.) Men’s Cross Country- Brunnette, this week’s LEC runner of the week, captured the individual title at the Keene State College Invitational last Saturday, leading Plymouth State University to a fourth-place finish among the eight competing schools.
2. Zach Ziemba (Manchester, NH) Football – Ziemba was named the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. he also helped lead the Panther defense with 12 tackles (a team-high nine solo) and an interception with an 11-yard return.
3. Hannah Kallis (Sanford ME) Soccer- Kallis came in clutch Wednesday evening as she scored the lone game-winning goal in double overtime to lift the women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Colby Sawyer College. The goal was Kallis’ fourth of the season and second game-winner.
4. Brianna Wojtas (Salem, NH)- Wojtas has been a consistent factor for the women’s volleyball team, hitting .269 on the year including three .450+ games.
