1. Football: The Plymouth State Football team cruised to a 27-0 victory over Mount Ida College last Saturday. Sophomore Jacob Szulc (Concord, N.H.) recorded six catches for 94 yards and scored three touchdown passes en route to the victory. PSU now moves to 2-0 as they continue their road trip to Western Connecticut. The team returns home next Saturday.
2.Women’s Cross Country: For the first time in 38 years, Plymouth state hosted a short course opener. Haley Dennis (Coventry, RI) earned her first collegiate victory in the 4000-meter run. 4x400 team earned a first place finish with a time of 3:32.61.
3. Men’s Cross Country: Led by runner of the year Sam Brunnette (Newport VT) the men’s cross-country team finished in the top five during the short course opener here at Plymouth state last Saturday. Warren Bartlett (Loudon, NH), Jared Wolf (Tyngsborough, Mass) Marcus Cryan ( Topsfield, Mass) Noah Byington (Hanscom AFB, Mass) helped the team earn 15 points during the event.
4. Field Hockey: The Plymouth State field hockey team earned a 2-1 victory over Fitchburg State last Saturday thanks to a two point performance from sophomore Maddie Kabasakalian (Kent, CT). With the victory, the team moves to 3-1 overall while remaining undefeated in the LEC.
Individual athletes
1.Sophomore Jacob Szulc (Concord, NH.) Football: Szulc registered three touchdowns on six catches for 94 yards last Saturday in PSU’s 27-0 shutout over Mount Ida college to help the team start the season 2-0.
2.Junior Haley Dennis (Coventry, RI) Cross Country- Saturday marked a milestone for the junior runner as Dennis picked up her first collegiate victory here at Plymouth last Saturday during the short course race.
3. Freshman Dianna Whittier (Sutton, Mass) Women's Soccer - Despite a 2-1 overttime loss, Saturday was also a milestone in Bridgewater for Whittier as she scored her first goal as a member of the women’s soccer team.
4.Graduate Student Zach Ziemba (Manchester, NH) Football -Ziemba added to his PSU athletic career with a 31-yard interception during last Saturdays shutout victory.
