Starting off the Recap, Cross Country hosted a short course open for the first time in 38 years.
Both the Women’s and the Men’s teams took 1st place out of 3 teams respectively. Junior Haley Dennis (Coventry, R.I.), earned her first collegiate victory finishing 1st in the 4,000 meter with a time of 16:23, leading the way for Panthers who placed in the top 7 spots in the event. For the Men’s team, Junior Sam Brunnette (Newport, Vt.) took the top spot in the 6,000 meter run finishing with a time of 19:34.
Both teams will run at the Bowdoin Invitational in Brunswick, Maine this Saturday, the 16th. The Men begin at 11am and the Women will start at 12pm.
The Plymouth Tennis team took on Rhode Island College in their first conference game of the season. However, things did not bode well for the Panthers as they fell 8-1. The lone win came from freshman doubles Kerstin Venincasa (Sutton, Mass.) and Jenna Sundquist (Monument Beach, MA.) who claimed an 8-6 victory.
The Panthers are on the road the next couple of days as they travel to Franklin Pierce on Thursday, the 14th, and then on Saturday, the 16th, when they travel to Worcester State for an LEC matchup.
